From the warehouse floor to the red carpet: DPD and AWL double shortlisted at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards

On November 5th, Marcella, Lennart and Harmen represented AWL in London at one of the biggest nights on the European supply chain calendar. Together with our customer DPD, we were nominated in two categories for the robotic parcel induction solution (ROSI). The day started just as special: at DPD UK, where ROSI works hard every day.

Thirty years of supply chain excellence

The Supply Chain Excellence Awards are a well-known name in the industry. This year marked the 30th edition, and the awards are regarded as the benchmark for best practice in European supply chain management. Entries go through a rigorous review: the judging panel brings more than 750 years of combined experience and gives entrants valuable feedback.

DPD and AWL were shortlisted in two categories: The Warehouse Initiative Award, which recognizes warehouse projects that raise the bar on efficiency, accuracy, safety, and capacity, and The Best Use of Robotics, which celebrates operations where robotics delivers real, measurable gains in productivity, accuracy, and safety. Being nominated in both categories makes us proud.

DPD UK and the robotic solutions in action

Before heading to the red carpet, the team visited the DPD UK site in London, where ROSI runs every day. Seeing a project on paper or in a test setup is one thing, but seeing the system perform live in a busy operation is something else entirely. It made the day complete before the awards had even started.

A night to be proud of

The award trophies went to other finalists this year, but we look back with a big smile. A double shortlisting, alongside names such as Asda, Arvato, Yusen Logistics and THG Fulfill, is a great recognition for the whole team.
