What do we expect?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar position (preferred).

Founded in Querétaro in 2016, AWL Automation Mexico continues to grow rapidly. Today, we have a dynamic and ambitious team of approximately 60 employees and are looking for a Trainee Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to help shape the future of automation technology.

Your Role

As a Trainee Mechanical Design Engineer, you will learn how to develop detailed mechanical designs based on project specifications, engineering standards, and customer requirements. You will gain hands-on experience in evaluating the technical feasibility of design solutions while considering quality, cost, timelines, and applicable regulations.

In this role, you will work closely with the Purchasing Department, Project Managers, Operations Manager, suppliers, customers, and our engineering teams in the Netherlands. This collaboration will provide you with valuable exposure to international projects and help ensure the successful execution of automation solutions from design through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on engineering activities and technical project tasks.

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs based on project specifications, standards, and customer requirements.

  • Evaluate and ensure the technical feasibility of design solutions.

  • Support Project Managers and Operations Managers throughout project execution.

  • Perform engineering calculations and select appropriate materials and components.

  • Ensure projects comply with established standards and legal requirements.

  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding component specifications and applications.

  • Provide technical information to the Purchasing Department for equipment, materials, and component procurement.

  • Maintain close communication with AWL Netherlands regarding engineering and project requirements.

  • Act as a technical liaison between AWL and customers.

  • Support problem-solving activities and provide design solutions throughout project execution.
