What do we expect?

A bachelor's degree level of working and thinking, with a completed degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
At least 10 years of relevant experience in IT, including experience in project management, for example as an IT Project Manager, IT Manager, or in a similar role;
Proven experience in developing and managing an IT strategy and roadmap, and the ability to translate business needs into concrete projects and results;
Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, including on-premises environments and Microsoft technologies, combined with experience or knowledge of software licensing and vendor contract management. Familiarity with NIS2, CRA, ISO 27001, and GDPR is considered a plus;
Strong communication and leadership skills, with excellent command of both Dutch and English, and the ability to engage effectively with management, business stakeholders, and suppliers.

About this vacancy.

As an IT Operations Team Lead, you ensure that colleagues can rely on a stable, secure, and high-performing IT environment every day. You will lead a team of six professionals across the IT Help Desk (first-line support) and System Administration. You bring focus, structure, and the right conditions for the team to perform at its best.

You combine day-to-day leadership with a strategic focus on the future. You maintain oversight of the continuity and development of the IT landscape and are responsible for:

Developing and maintaining the IT roadmap, translating developments and business needs within AWL into concrete IT initiatives;
Coordinating IT projects while managing planning, budgets, progress, and stakeholder alignment;
Managing IT budgets, software licenses, and contracts, while maintaining supplier relationships regarding pricing agreements, renewals, and service delivery;
Safeguarding the reliability and security of the IT environment and ensuring compliance with relevant developments related to NIS2, CRA, ISO 27001, and GDPR;
Further developing both the IT team and the IT organization within AWL by providing direction, coaching team members, and fostering effective collaboration with business stakeholders and external partners.

You have broad IT expertise and quickly understand technical challenges. For specialized topics, you work closely with colleagues within the team and other IT specialists, leveraging their expertise to make well-informed decisions and identify effective solutions.

Together with your colleagues, you contribute to changes and improvements across the IT landscape and play an active role in both national and international IT projects. You can easily switch between operational issues, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making, helping shape the future development of AWL's IT organization.
