About this vacancy.
As a Joining Specialist at AWL Automation, you will execute and support the industrial joining processes used to manufacture automated production systems, robotic cells, tooling, machine frames, guarding, conveyors, and custom automation equipment. You will work with MIG and TIG welding, resistance spot and projection welding, laser welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, riveting, stud welding, and mechanical fastening to ensure completed assemblies meet engineering, quality, and safety requirements.
You will prepare materials through cutting, grinding, cleaning, fixturing, and fit-up; safely set up and operate joining equipment; and verify the alignment, dimensional accuracy, appearance, strength, and structural integrity of completed work. You will interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, welding symbols, GD&T requirements, and work instructions, record inspection results, and report non-conformances.
In this role, you will maintain welding and joining equipment, perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting, and keep tools, fixtures, and work areas organized in accordance with 5S standards. You will collaborate with Mechanical Designers, Manufacturing Engineers, Controls Technicians, and Assembly Technicians, while providing practical input on manufacturability and joining methods during design reviews.
The ideal candidate combines broad, hands-on joining expertise with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a quality-focused mindset. Experience with industrial suppliers and systems such as Fronius, Lincoln Electric, Miller, Bosch Rexroth, ARO, Dengensha, IPG Photonics, Trumpf, Nordson, Atlas Copco, or Scheugenpflug is valuable. Welding certifications such as AWS, CWB, or equivalent, along with experience in lean manufacturing and joining process validation, are preferred.
If you are ready to apply your joining expertise to complex automation projects and help advance manufacturing excellence, we look forward to hearing from you.
